Throughout this week, various cases related to journalism and freedom of expression, facing various allegations, will continue to be heard.
The trial concerning journalist Elif Akgül, accused of "terrorist propaganda" based on her social media posts, will commence this week. Additionally, a case involving 46 individuals, including relatives of missing persons, due to the 700th gathering of the Saturday Mothers/People, will be heard this week as well.

April 2nd, Tuesday
10.10 - The first hearing of the case filed against journalist Elif Akgül, defended by MLSA, due to "making illegal organization propaganda" through her social media posts, will be held at Istanbul 13th High Criminal Court.
10.55 - The lawsuit filed by Seyme Music and Film Production, represented by MLSA, against the Çayırova Municipality, an affiliate of the AKP, due to the cancellation of the Kurdish-language play "Don Quixote" adapted from Cervantes' famous work by Amed City Theater, will be heard at Gebze 3rd Peace Civil Court of First Instance. The lawsuit seeks both pecuniary and non-pecuniary damages.
13.00 - The 11th session of the trial against seven lawyers, who attempted to release sky lanterns in solidarity with the lawyers from People's Law Office (HHB) and Contemporary Jurists Association (ÇHD), who have been on a hunger strike for 30 days in prison, facing allegations of "violation of Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations" and "preventing a public official from performing their duty", will be held at Istanbul 46th Criminal Court of First Instance.

09.20 - The 16th session of the trial against journalists Osman Akın and Veysi Sarısözen, accused of "making terrorist propaganda systematically", will be held at Istanbul 13th Heavy Penal Court.
10.45 - The second session of the trial against journalist Furkan Karabay, accused of "insult", based on tweets targeting Deputy Ministers of Justice Akın Gürlek and Hasan Yılmaz, and Constitutional Court Member İrfan Fidan, will be held at Ankara 16th Criminal Court of First Instance.
11.30 - The third hearing of the trial against journalists Emrah Erdoğan and Rojin Akın, accused of "membership in a terrorist organization", will be held at Istanbul 23rd Heavy Penal Court.
April 4th, Thursday
09.30 - The fourth session of the trial against 32 individuals, who protested the detention of university students during demonstrations following the appointment of Prof. Dr. Melih Bulu as the rector of Boğaziçi University, facing allegations of "violation of Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations" and "resisting to fulfill a duty", will be held at Ankara 71st Criminal Court of First Instance.
11.40 - The 12th hearing of the lawsuit filed against artist Ferhat Tunç due to "making propaganda for a terrorist organization" through eight tweets he shared about the Turkish Armed Forces' Olive Branch operation in Afrin will be held at Istanbul 37th Assize Court.
12.05 - The fifth session of the defamation lawsuit filed by AKP Member of Parliament Ali İhsan Arslan against İleri Haber and journalists İzel Sezer and Doğan Ergün, regarding a news article published in 2021, will be held at Ankara 20th Civil Court of First Instance.

09.26 - The fourth hearing of the case filed against journalist Perihan Kaya due to "being an illegal organization member" will be held at Diyarbakır 10th Assize Court.
10.00 - The twelfth session of the trial against 46 individuals arrested during the police intervention at the 700th gathering of the Saturday Mothers/People at Galatasaray Square, facing allegations of "violation of Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations", will be held at Istanbul 21st Criminal Court of First Instance.
