ARTICLE 19 offers advocacy training for civil society on United Nations system

Online training sessions scheduled for September 24 and October 22, application deadline September 20

ARTICLE 19 is organizing a two-part online training series titled "UN Mechanisms and Advocacy for Civil Society in Turkey" aimed at strengthening civil society’s advocacy efforts within the United Nations (UN) system. The sessions will be held online on September 24 and October 22 from 11:00 to 12:30 (Turkey time).

The training will cover strategies for engaging with the UN Human Rights Council, utilizing the Universal Periodic Review (UPR) process, and effectively using the Council’s Special Procedures. It will also address the Treaty-based Review Mechanisms and other advocacy methods.

Session details:

  • Human Rights Council and Universal Periodic Review Training: September 24, 2024, from 11:00 to 12:30 (GMT +3)
  • Special Procedures and Treaty-based Review Mechanisms Training: October 22, 2024, from 11:00 to 12:30 (GMT +3)

Both sessions will be conducted in English, with simultaneous Turkish interpretation. Participants can apply for one or both sessions via the application form provided in the link.

Application deadline:

Applications are open until 23:59 on September 20, 2024 (Turkey time). Only selected applicants will be notified by 11:00 on September 21.
