Free Web Turkey to release 2023 Internet Censorship Report on July 12

The Media and Law Studies Association (MLSA) will present the 2023 Internet Censorship Report by its Free Web Turkey project on July 12. The report examines access blocks imposed on news articles, websites, social media posts, accounts, and other online content throughout 2023.

The report, prepared after a year-long monitoring of access ban decisions, highlights significant censorship cases, including erroneous access bans, internet restrictions during the February 2023 earthquakes, and recent legal amendments.

Panel: Journalism under the clamp of censorship

Following the report presentation by Free Web Turkey Coordinator Ali Safa Korkut, a panel titled "Journalism under the clamp of censorship" will be held. Speakers include Yiğit Günay, Editor-in-Chief of soL News Portal, Diren Yurtsever, Editor and News Chief of Mezopotamya Agency, and journalist Furkan Karabay from 10Haber.
