The Southeastern Journalists Association (GGC), a leading press organization in Turkey, has recognized the Media and Legal Studies Association (MLSA) with its Freedom of the Press Award as part of its annual Successful Journalists of the Year Awards.
The Southeastern Journalists Association (GGC), one of Turkey's leading professional press organizations, has announced the recipients of its 37. annual 'Successful Journalists of the Year Awards.' The Media and Legal Studies Association (MLSA) has been honored with the GGC Freedom of the Press Award this year.
As per the announcement published on the GGC's website, the awards ceremony, set for February 6, will be dedicated to journalists who have lost their lives in earthquakes, as well as to GGC Honorary Member Raif Türk who passed away on October 19, 2022, due to health issues.
The GGC Jury Special Award has been dedicated to journalists who perished in the February earthquakes.
The jury of the competition, organized to encourage efforts in the designated categories and honor successful works, consisted of Coşkun Aral, Mehmet Akif Ersoy, Cem Öğretir, Hülya Hökenek, Fuat Kozluklu, Ömer Berberoğlu, Esra Şimşek, Halil Demir, Barış Avşar, Ömer Kılıç, Nevzat Çiçek, Ramazan Yavuz, Ümit Bektaş, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Zuhal Akmeşe Demir, Yılmaz Akıncı, Resul Serdar Ataş, Ferit Aslan, Zülfikar Ali Aydın, Esat Aydın, Altan Sancar, Hakan Hocaoğlu, Mehmet Pişkin, Yunus Yalçın, Mehmet Tayfur Birgül, Salih Bilici, Hüseyin Yılmaz, and Mehmet Kılıçoğlu.
