Haydar Ergül, an editor for the Demokratik Modernite magazine, was taken into police custody on Jan. 16, the pro-Kurdish ANF news agency reported.
ANF said Ergül was being flown to İstanbul. He was kept at the Diyarbakır Courthouse where he testified to a prosecutor in Istanbul via video-conferencing.
His detention period was extended to seven days, which means the police can keep him without a court appearacne for a week. The reason for his detention wasn’t immediately clear.
