The Media and Law Studies Association (MLSA) has published the sixth issue of gazeteMLSA, a newspaper produced as part of the association’s “News Workshop” initiative, which has supported aspiring journalists since 2019. Designed to help young journalists hone their skills, gazeteMLSA features stories and reporting created by workshop participants.
This year’s workshop, held in May in Diyarbakır with support from the Journalists’ Association’s Press House Support Project (BEDA), brought together 17 young participants for three days of training. Experienced journalists led sessions on news writing techniques, journalism in high-risk areas, and other critical skills. The workshop was coordinated by Banu Tuna, General Secretary of the Journalists’ Union of Turkey, and Gökçer Tahincioğlu, the Ankara bureau chief of T24.
The newly released 16-page issue showcases 24 reports by 15 young journalists, and is now available on MLSA’s website.
