Diyarbakır - The sixth hearing in the trial of journalist and author Mehmet Şahin on allegations of “membership in an organization” was held at the Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court in southeastern Turkey, with the court awaiting the prosecutor’s opinion on the merits.
At a previous hearing, three separate case files had been merged into a single trial.
The session began with identification procedures and was attended by Şahin and his lawyer, Resul Temur. No defense statements were presented during the hearing.
The panel of judges adjourned the session until 9 a.m. on June 11, requesting that the case file be sent to the prosecutor’s office for the preparation of its opinion.
