MLSA - MLSA Co-Director Veysel Ok from Turkey will participate in the 27th edition of the Forum 2000 Conference, which is organized annually in Prague with the participation of heads of state and government, parliamentarians, and opinion leaders to continue dialogue on key issues of the world, especially democracy and human rights.
The 27th Forum 2000 Conference, which was initiated by former Czech President Václav Havel, Nobel Peace Prize recipient Elie Wiesel, and Japanese philanthropist Yohei Sasakawa in 1996, will take place in Prague from October 15-17. The conference theme for this year is "For a Democratic World Order," and the discussions will cover topics such as "Reclaiming Initiatives in Democracies," "Technology and Democracy," "Promoting Democracy in a Non-Free Environment," and "Thematic and Regional Focus."
The opening session of this year's conference will feature Czech President Petr Pavel, Moldovan Prime Minister Maia Sandu, and Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavsky.
Veysel Ok, the Co-Director of Media and Law Studies Association (MLSA), is scheduled to speak at the "Sharing the Struggle for Freedom" session. The session will be moderated by Šimon Pánek, the Executive Director of People in Need, a humanitarian aid organization. Other speakers include Chinese artist and activist Badiucao, Iranian Editor-in-Chief of Manoto TV Tina Ghazimorad, and Cecilia Requena Zárate, a member of the Bolivian Senate.
The Forum 2000 Conference will also host the second edition of the Ukrainian Forum in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic.
