This week, hearings for cases related to journalism and freedom of expression charges will take place.
Documentary filmmaker Sibel Tekin and Berkin Elvan's mother and father Elvan, who was killed by a gas canister fired by the police during the Gezi protests, will be in front of the judge again. The trials of journalists Sonya Bayık, Hakkı Boltan, Metin Cihan, İzel Sezer, Batuhan Batan, Faruk Eren, and Furkan Karabay will continue due to the cases filed against them.
The trials regarding the murders of Diyarbakır Bar Association President Tahir Elçi and Agos Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Hrant Dink will also be held this week.

09.20 - The 11th hearing of the case in which journalist Sonya Bayık, together with activists, is on trial for "violating Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations" for following a press statement in Hasankef, will be held at Batman 1st Criminal Court of First Instance.
09.25 - The fourth hearing of the retrial of journalist Hakkı Boltan for "insulting the president" following the reversal decision of the Court of Appeals will be held at Diyarbakır 12th Criminal Court of First Instance.
09.38 - The seventh hearing of the case filed against journalist Metin Cihan due to "insulting a public official" for his tweet about Berat Albayrak, former Minister of Treasury and Finance and President Erdoğan's son-in-law, will be held at Istanbul 36th Criminal Court of First Instance.
09.50 - The third hearing of the trial, in which İzel Sezer, the Editor-in-Chief of İleri Haber, and Batuhan Batan, the Managing Editor, are accused of "publicly insulting with an audio, written or video message" and "slander" based on the complaint of Mustafa Doğan İnal, former lawyer of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, will take place at the Istanbul 25th Criminal Court of First Instance.
10.05 – Ankara 7th Criminal Court of First Instance will hold the 8th hearing of the case filed against 13 people who were detained during the police intervention against the protest organized in Ankara against the appointment of a "trustee rector" to Boğaziçi University, due to "violating Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations" and "resisting to prevent the execution of duty".
10.10 – The case filed against artist Ferhat Tunç due to "being an illegal organization member" and "making illegal organization propaganda" will be held at Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court.
10.25 – The second hearing of the trial filed against Gerçek Gündem Managing Editor Faruk Eren and editor Furkan Karabay due to "targeting people who took part in the fight against terrorism", which was merged with another case filed on the same grounds at Ankara 4th High Criminal Court, will be held.
10.40 - Gülsüm Elvan, the mother of Berkin Elvan who was killed by the police during the Gezi Park protests, and Sami Elvan, the father of Berkin Elvan, are on trial on charges of "insulting the President" at Istanbul 43rd Criminal Court of First Instance.
11.15 - The sixth hearing of the case in which documentary director Sibel Tekin is on trial for "illegal organization membership" due to the footage she shot for the documentary 'Life Beginning in Darkness' will be held at Ankara 26th High Criminal Court.
13.25 - The 11th hearing of the case involving 17 individuals detained during a police intervention at a press statement marking the sixth anniversary of the Suruç Massacre, charged with "violating Law No. 2911 on Meetings and Demonstrations" and "resisting arrest", will take place at the Adana 17th Criminal Court of First Instance.
14.15 – The second hearing of the case filed against journalists Faruk Eren and Furkan Karabay for "targeting people who took part in the fight against terrorism" after Constitutional Court member İrfan Fidan filed a complaint against them for a news article published on Gerçek Gündem news website, will be held at Ankara 22nd High Criminal Court.

10.00 - The tenth hearing of the case regarding the murder of former Diyarbakır Bar Association President Tahir Elçi will be held at Diyarbakır 10th High Criminal Court.
10.00 - The fourth hearing of the case in which 11 instigators and public officials who were sentenced in the murder case of Agos Newspaper Editor-in-Chief Hrant Dink are on trial for 'violating the Constitution' and 'FETÖ membership' will be held at Istanbul 14th High Criminal Court.

10.20 - The case filed against writer Gökhan Yavuzel, defended by MLSA, for "insulting the president" will be heard at Şanlıurfa 4th Criminal Court of First Instance.
10.25 - The second case filed against writer Gökhan Yavuzel, defended by MLSA, will be heard on the same day at Şanlıurfa 4th Criminal Court of First Instance.
10.40 - The second hearing of the lawsuit filed by President Erdoğan's former lawyer Mustafa Doğan İnal against journalist Furkan Karabay for 100 thousand TL non-pecuniary damages will be held at Istanbul 21st Civil Court of First Instance.
11.15 – The trial filed against journalist Rüstem Batum, defended by MLSA, for "insulting the president" will be heard at Istanbul 12th Criminal Court of First Instance.
